Viele bekannte Künstler verneigen sich ehrfürchtig vor der Arbeit von Johannes Grützke. Er ist für sie Vorbild, Vorreiter und einfach der genialste Maler mit unverwechselbarer Sicherheit in der Pinselführung, Komposition und Bildfindung.
Johannes Grützke ist zweifelsfrei einer der größten deutschen Maler des 20. Jahrhunderts. Grützke ist nicht nur ein phantastischer Porträtist. Er malt nach der Natur. Keine abgemalten Fotos. Er malt das Leben. Ist keines seiner vielen Modelle in der Nähe, malt er sich selbst. Er ist immer da. Im Atelier. Er muss den Pinsel ja halten. Sein Pinsel malt alles, was der Künstler sieht. Viele Besucher wundern sich über die große Anzahl an Selbstporträts und halten Grützke deshalb für arrogant. Das war er mit Sicherheit nicht! Er malte halt nur nach dem Leben... sich selbst als sein immer anwesendes Modell. Wenn halt niemand anderes da ist...
Grützke gehört zu der Generation bekannter deutscher Maler, wie Georg Baselitz, Günther Uecker, Jörg Immendorf, Gerhard Richter, Markus Lüpertz oder Klaus Fussmann. Unter all seinen bekannten Kollegen ist er (aus meiner Sicht) der Größte, aber dabei preislich vollkommen unterbewertet. Seine Werke haben deutlich Potential für Preissteigerungen und diese werden bei seiner Qualität zwangsläufig kommen...

Johannes Grützke is without doubt one of the greatest German painters of the 20th century. Grützke is not only a fantastic portraitist. He paints after nature. No painted photos. He paints life. If none of his many models are around, he paints himself. He is always there. In the studio. He has to hold the brush. His brush paints everything the artist sees. Many visitors are amazed at the large number of self-portraits and therefore think Grützke is arrogant. He certainly was not! He just painted after life... himself as his ever-present model. When no one else is around...
Grützke belongs to the generation of famous German painters such as Georg Baselitz, Günther Uecker, Jörg Immendorf, Gerhard Richter, Markus Lüpertz or Klaus Fussmann. Among all his famous colleagues he is (in my opinion) the greatest, but completely undervalued in terms of price. His works have a clear potential for price increases and these will inevitably come with his quality...
